Whatsapp Channel in plaats van nieuwsbrief?

Whatsapp Channel instead of newsletter?

Aug 22, 2024Naomi Steylaerts

Hello, I did something crazy.
I started a Curated Tableware Whatsapp Channel.

I beg you pardon? What?

So I started a Curated Tableware Whatsapp Channel. It's a news channel on Whatsapp.

Don't run away screaming

It's not a chat group.
I repeat: no chat group.

It's a one directional: from me to you.
If you subscribe, you'll be the first to know when new items are posted online, when events are planned... all the important stuff.

What else?
Probably some behind the scenes now and then. Maybe tips about flea markets? Definitely news on upcoming events.

No secret catch?
No.
Think of it as a newsletter 2.0.

Less hassle.
Easier for me.
Practical for you.

Why?

Well, because after more than 10 years of (solo) entrepreneurship, I know what my strengths are and where my “points for improvement” lie. I almost never manage to finish and send out newsletters on time. I always find it a hassle: a necessary evil, so to speak. A lot of work for me and such an email probably just ends up in your spam.
But besides Instagram & Facebook , I still wanted something to communicate more targeted. Something without a capricious algorithm, something where I am sure that every message reaches you.
A whatsapp group then? No way. Admit that you hate whatapp groups a little too.

But then Whatsapp came up with "news channels", a new feature that solves this problem. Think of it as a kind of newspaper. I easily send short news items (in english) to all subscribers at once. One-way traffic from me to you. No chat, no interaction. Just news to keep you informed. Short and sweet.
Completely free, and you can get out whenever you want.
From my side I only see the number of subscribers, and not who follows the channel. So you don't share your data with me (unless we are already whatsapp friends, of course).

Are you still there?
Wow! If you've read this far, you'll secretly want to sign up. Test it
