About the manufacturer:

The factory in Saint-Clément was built around 1758 by Jacques Chambrette as a branch of the Faïencerie de Lunéville .
In 1763, Saint-Clement was sold to Charles Loyal and Richard Mique. He developed a “Louis XVI” style and in 1785 he gave 2,000 pots to the queen to decorate the Petit Trianon, before being beheaded in 1794 with his son.

From 1816 onwards, the earthenware factory gradually came into the hands of the Thomas family. The factory won a gold medal at the Exhibition of French Industrial Products in 1844. The factory then took part in the World Exhibition of 1855, followed by the World Exhibition of 1878. The factory was sold in 1892, when the two factories, which at that time dominated the French market, merged under the name Keller & Guérin.

In 1922, Édouard Fenal, son of the founder of the Badonviller pottery, bought the factories of Lunéville and Saint-Clément and restarted artistic production. In 1978, the group made a takeover bid for the Sarreguemines pottery.

In 2006, Faïence et Cristal de France, owner of the Niderviller earthenware factory, the Vallérysthal crystal factories and the Portieux crystal factories, also took over the Lunéville-Saint-Clément earthenware factories. A new group was born: Terres d'Est.
In March 2022, after more than two centuries in operation, the iconic pottery was placed into receivership.
